Home / Guides / Issue Fixes / Server Starts Then Stops Automatically

Quick answer: the server is stopping because the Minecraft EULA is not accepted yet. On first startup the server creates eula.txt with eula=false and shuts down until you accept the agreement. Accept the EULA popup in the panel, or change it to eula=true manually - the server will then start normally.

Why this happens

Minecraft Java Edition servers must accept the Minecraft End User License Agreement (EULA) before they can run. On the very first start, the server generates an eula.txt file with eula=false inside and stops itself. This is why the server starts and then stops automatically - it is waiting for you to accept the EULA.

Method 1: Accept the EULA popup in the panel (fastest)

On mobile

  1. Open your server in the panel.
  2. Tap the 3 dots (menu), then tap Start.
  3. Wait for the EULA accept popup to appear.
  4. Tap Accept. The server starts and keeps running - issue resolved.

On PC

  1. In the left sidebar of the panel, open Console.
  2. Click Start and wait a few seconds.
  3. An EULA accept popup appears in the console.
  4. Accept the popup. The server starts and keeps running - issue resolved.

Method 2: Manual fix (if no popup appears)

If you do not see the popup, you can accept the EULA directly in the file editor:

  1. Go to Files in the panel.
  2. Open eula.txt.
  3. You will see a line like this:

eula=false

  1. Change it to:

eula=true

  1. Save the file.
  2. Start the server again. It will now boot fully and stay online.
Note: setting eula=true means you agree to the Minecraft EULA (minecraft.net/eula). Accepting it is required for every Minecraft Java server.
